Sue Capozzi joined The Veterans Corporation in August 2005
and was elected Secretary to the Board of Directors in April 2006. Ms. Capozzi formerly
served as Vice President, Member Services for CompTel/ASCENT, following the merger
of the two leading trade associations in the competitive telecommunications industry.
She is a seventeen-year veteran of non-profit associations, including senior management
positions at ASCENT (prior to its merger with CompTel), the startup Broadcast Cinema
Association, the International Communications Industries Association (INFOCOMM)
and the National Peace Corps Association. During her five years at the Smithsonian
Institution, Ms. Capozzi was the founding Deputy Director of the National Demonstration
Laboratory for Interactive Educational Technologies, a joint venture of the Smithsonian
and a consortium of Public Television stations and major universities. She served
as a Peace Corps volunteer in Gabon, Africa, where she taught English as a Foreign
Language.
Sue Capozzi is a graduate of the College of William and Mary,
in Virginia, and a native Washingtonian. Ms. Capozzi
lives on Capitol Hill with her husband, Former DC "Shadow" Representative John Capozzi,
and their two children, Camille and Hans.
