The Veterans Corporation, Metropolitan Community College-Blue River and the Owner-Operator
Independent Drivers Association have formed a partnership to provide entrepreneurial
tools for Veterans and Service Disabled Veterans. This three day seminar is designed
to assist Veterans in meeting the many challenges that await the driver desiring
to become an owner/operator. The seminar will inform you of the process and help
you to form reasonable expectations about being an owner-operator.
According to the Small Business Administration 90% of all small business ventures
fail within the first year. Those failures are not based on a lack of enthusiasm
but a lack of information to make sound business decisions. The seminar will help
you to set up your own business plan, work through a budget, costs and pay methods,
time management, insurance, taxes, business structures, leasing regulations, “spec’ing”
your truck to meet your driving plans, financing, record keeping, permits, licensing,
authority and audits.
The seminar will be taught by experts in each field as only Owner-Operator Independent
Drivers Association (OOIDA) can offer through its experienced staff. It is an intense,
practical and down to earth seminar for the driver or spouse who wants the truth
and wants to succeed.
