OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES All United States students, ages 12-18, are eligible to participate in the 2009 "Honoring America's Veteran Entrepreneurs" Youth Essay Contest. Eligible students include those students attending public, private, parochial, or home schools. Essays must be the original work of the entrant and may be typed or hand-written. No literary or artistic form other than an essay will be accepted. Only one (1) essay may be submitted by each contestant. Essays should be no longer than 1,000 words and must be accompanied by a completed contest entry form. Please click here to download the official 2009 contest entry form: Essays must be emailed or postmarked no later than Friday, December 19, 2008. Essays emailed or postmarked after December 19, 2008, will not be considered eligible. To enter, email your essay and completed contest entry form to EssayContest@veteranscorp.org with the words "Essay Contest" in the subject line of your email. Or, send a hard copy of your essay along with the completed essay contest entry form to: Essay Contest Essays will not be returned to the author; they become property of The Veterans Corporation. The Veterans Corporation may reprint the essays in various publications belonging to the organization, both online and in print. Appropriate citations will be given to the writers. Students who have family members employed by The Veterans Corporation or serving as contest judges are not eligible to compete. Winners will be chosen by a panel of distinguished judges. The first-place winner will be invited to accept the award at TVC's Annual "Honoring America's Veteran Entrepreneurs" Reception and Awards Ceremony in February, 2009, in Washington, DC. |
