Triple Win for Global Business Network Association (GBNA) and Ted Leonsis at the Verizon Center

Win #1

The Global Business Network Association (GBNA), trying to prove that smart little small businesses can attract support from giants in the marketplace, organized a very special small business networking affair at the Verizon Center in DC this past weekend.  Micheal Davis, a Founder and Director of GBNA, showed how his persistence and gregarious nature could attract one of the most successful and well known entrepreneurs in DC to a GBNC network event.  That entrepreneur is Ted Leonsis, owner, among other things, of the Washington Wizards.

Win #2

Mr. Ted Leonsis, proving that he practices what he preaches, spent a very delightful and informative hour with GBNA members, sharing his story and offering insightful advice on how to be successful in business and in life.  Ted apparently has always been a double bottom line kind of guy, but recently articulated his philosophy in a terrific book called The Business of Happiness: 6 Secrets to Extraordinary Success in Life and Work.

One of books’ first tenets is that everyone should immerse themselves in “Multiple Communities of Interest”.  The GNBC network now has the good fortune of becoming one of the Communities that Ted cares about.  Kudos to Micheal Davis, who has already been practicing some of Ted’s secrets by organizing great GBNA events like the Verizon Center networking reception. The event was a terrific affair for all GBNA members.

Micheal Davis is CEO of Davis-Paige Management Systems, LLC (DPMS) , a successful 8(A), Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB); a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE); and a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB).  Micheal helped found GBNA to collectively enhance strategic business positions through information sharing and teaming relationships. In addition, the members of GBNA can use the association as a platform to increase the visibility of their mutual concerns regarding doing business as a small company in the Federal marketplace. Anyone needing to learn more about the “Secrets” could talk with Ted like Micheal did, read Ted’s book or just join one of the best “Communities of Interest” for small business in DC by going to GBNA, whose next meeting is scheduled for Saturday, March 17, 2012, 9:30 am to 12:00 noon. The meeting will be held at DPMS Headquarters at 7611 Little River Turnpike, Annandale, VA. All Veteran small businesses should check it out.

Win #3

Wizards beat the Cavaliers 101-98 —-creating a great time for GBNC and hopefully some new momentum this season for the Wizards and a well deserved Triple Bottom line for Ted Leonsis. GBNA wants to convey a big ‘Thank You!’ for the evening.
